“Drunk on love and tears” by Sanjana Basu

“Drunk on love and tears” is Sanjana Basu’s debut book. It’s a non fiction self love and revival book, that I don’t think fits in any other category but “wisdom”. Now how do I talk about this book? I did not know what to expect because the summary on Amazon did not give away much. Also, I rarely tend to reach for self help books and when I do, I mostly find them boring and useless. That was not the case here! The first thing that draw me to it was the cover and the art inside

“The gentleman’s guide to vice and virtue” by Mackenzi Lee

Act 1: Geneva Airport, Switzerland. A girl is sitting on the floor, reading a book. Act 2: The girl misses her plane to Sofia, Bulgaria. The girl doesn’t mind. The book is good. Act 3: Book and girl end up in Warsaw, Poland. Not even close to home. The girl still doesn’t mind. The book is really good. Yep, that is a real story starring me as  “The girl” and “The gentleman’s guide to vice and virtue” as “The book”. On the day I bought and started reading this book, my friend a

“Since We Were Friends” by Zoe Haslie

“Since We Were Friends” by Zoe Haslie is a sweet and funny story, a perfect companion for a summer afternoon.  It’s a contemporary/romance / coming of age story about love and friendship, and the value of family. Welcome to the Clarks Residence, where peace and quiet are nowhere to be found. Regan is used to the hectic ways of life with three brothers. The brothers in question are pranksters  who can put to shame even the Weasley twins (from “Harry Potter”). Their father is a

Scythe (Arc of a Scythe, #1) by Neal Shusterman

“Scythe” takes place in an utopian society where pain, hunger and even death are now bound to human will. Who would not wish for that? To live in a perfect society, to live for as long as you want, even to choice at what age to appear? But even as most of us wish for that, we rarely think what will happen to the Earth if we exclude “death” from the “circle of life”. If humans keep reproducing but cease to face death, the world will face overpopulation. Thus comes the role of

Illuminae, SciFi YA novel by Amie Kaufman and Jay Kristoff

Illuminae is not your typical YA – SciFi – post apocalyptic – space based – star crossed lovers – novel. Yes, there is love. Yes, there is a trail of tragic events. And yes, it is set in space. But no, the compresence stops here. If you love SciFi – this book is for you!  If you love fast paced action books – go for it! If you like zombie themed video games – oh, you’ll enjoy this! If you like politics and strategy – yes, got that too! If you’re interested in artificial intel

"We were liars" by E. Lockhart

It was a Sunday afternoon and my friend and I were looking for a parking spot in front of a pizza joint. At the corner of the street two men were throwing books in the trach cans. It was like a scene from a movie. The two men, the giant pile of books at their feet, and the almost full recycle bins. Being me, I was too shy to go and ask them to look at the books, so I waited them out and went to “investigate”. There were not just books, but pictures, photographs, post cards, n
